RELAXATION, PEMF AND STRESS

Life is a delicate balance of activity and rest, relaxation and stress. Contrary to what one may think, stress is healthy in the right amount.

We need to stress, challenge and exercise our bodies in order to thrive. The problem is we are way too OVER- stressed. Our central nervous system mediates the stress and relaxation in the body with what is called the Sympathetic and Parasympathetic response.

Simply put, the Sympathetic nervous system is our Fight, Flight and Fright system that prepares our bodies for action. The Sympathetic response triggers adrenaline and cortisol release, which raises our heart rate, increases our breathing rate, shift blood up from the core to the muscles, and basically gets us ready to run away from danger. Exercise can trigger this system in a healthy way. However, many of us are in a constant state of stress, which leads to burnout and exhaustion.

In contrast to the Fight, Flight or Fright Sympathetic System is the Parasympathetic System which is the Rest, Digest and Heal system.

The Parasympathetic System is the opposite of the Sympathetic in that it shifts our energy, blood and nutrients into our core for Healing, Repair and Digestion.

One of the great benefits of PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) therapy is that it assists the body in Relaxation, Repair and Healing. It shifts your body into a more Parasympathetic mode if you are overstressed. It then energizes invigorates and stimulates your body for optimal performance.

Most people have no problem with stimulation and its ensuing stress. In fact, too much stress is perhaps the greatest indicator of serious disease or sudden death.

PEMF has been shown to significantly lower cortisol levels and create a balance in autonomic functions. Cortisol is the primary hormone responsible for stress response. So no matter what stress you are experiencing in life, lying down on an earth-based PEMF therapy mat will reset your body to the earth pulse of healing and relaxation.
